I am working on a report for 67-69 Camaro cylinder head usage. I have the SBC and BBC numbers pretty much done, but I am struggling a bit with the L6 heads.
I assume that the 230 and 250 engines used the same head and probably the same casting number all 3 years, but can any of you verify?
Include
1. The head casting number
2. The casting date
3. Year of the engine.
Thanks in advance. If you photos are used, you will be giving credit.

I know you might get a better response if you also posted in the 6 cylinder section. I’ll snap some of mine.

Thanks David.

I love you but I’m not taking the valve cover off. The ac compressor makes it difficult to see….these are from the passenger side because the manifolds are obviously on the other side.

Feel free to move my post so I'm not an orphan here.

You’re not an orphan.

I plan on using your picture that shows the 4886 external partial casting number.
Thanks!

1968 230L6. Engine assembled March 14 1968. Photos are of the passenger side, left to right.

OK so we have verified usage of the 3864886 casting number. Any more?

Thanks for posting that. We determined that the exterior partial casting number may not match the actual casting number under the valve cover. If you ever have a chance to take a pic with the valve cover off, please do so.
