Which translates to 3.73 assembled 11/26 1968 Detroit Gear 1st shift with Eaton Posi
Casting date code on housing is K 22 8 which is Nov 11 1968
Casting Code on housing is 3894860NF
My trim tag is 06A with NCRS shipping date of 6/16/69
Is it safe to assume my axle is not original due to the lapse in time from body date and axle build dates?

I would not assume that. Keep it and look for a date closer as you never know your paperwork might show up at some point.

I'm 99.999 percent sure it's not original. All the BU axles we have in the database during the 06A time frame for Norwood (approx 35) are dated mid May to early June, 1969.

My 69 L78 has a 12 bolt dated November 12th 1968. The car is a 12A Norwood car. The rear is a BT 3:55 posi.
