Title: Correct Oil fitting L35
Post by: luv2sixty9 on November 14, 2022, 04:40:19 PM
Wanting to ascertain, which is the correct original one if any for a 05E NOR68 Camaro SS 396/325hp with Oil Light / Idiot Warning Light.

I believe it's the top one but not absolutely sure.

Looking for concrete answers no guessing. Thanxs in advance

My 01C LOS 396 car has the upper one-piece 45-degree fitting.

It makes sense that they would use as few pieces as possible to eliminate parts, the labor to assemble them and possible oil leak locations.

Top picture is correct for 444052 elbow used on 67 68 69 2 bolt BB's. When the AIM RPO L35/U17 instructions where drawn they added the bushing 444026 / 444030 U17 which is not used on 2 bolt blocks but 444030 is used on 4 bolt blocks.
2 bolt BB blocks are drilled for 3/8" NPT and 444052 elbow screws directly into it with no adaptor ( bushing).
4 bolt BB blocks are drilled for 3/4" NPT and 444030 reducer bushing (3/4" to 1/2")  is needed but 444052 elbow is not used.
