Which temp sending unit came with a DZ motor build date 1st week of January 69 with console guages.
threaded stud or slip on type. just curious, mine has the threaded.
Thanks in advance.

My 69 396 car with gauges has threaded connection. I would think yours is the same. It's the gauge & the sender that have to match....Joe

Uses the threaded stud for console gauges.

could there be a chance that an early 69 DZ January with console guages have the 68 sending unit.
is it possible gm just used up the 68's before going to the screw stud connector.
thoughts on this,
thanks

Its unlikely that GM would have had an inventory of the 1968 version sender on-hand 5+ months into the 1969 production cycle. That said, the 1968 production "shorty" spoiler was used well into February and possibly early March 1969. What makes continuation of the 68 gauge sender a bigger challenge is that it would also require a compatible engine harness which would further complicate production. Of the original January built cars I've seen that were factory optioned with gauges I've never seen a 68 sender that's also original to the car.

thanks, all info that I too came up with supports the threaded post only.
