what is a good hood hinges and latch for a 69 Camaro with a cowl hood and the correct spring ?
worn and needs replacing too worn to refurbish
-
Original good Nova hinge should be easy.
Spring is same as stock flat hood.

do you know the spring length , reading different info , had a goodmark set and hood would pop up , too strong a spring want to get it right

I have used the correct GM part number in my search and in some listings show different length than the GM part ?
does the shorter spring have less "tension" the 9" that came with the goodmark was too strong

NOS GM # for SS springs is 3848272. I have them in stock and are readily available. Anybody who rebuilds hood hinges does as well. I do not buy repro hood or door hinges. I have many of mine rebuilt of all makes and models by Willie at HoodHingeRepair. Lost track of how many he he has done for me, not to mention referrals. I've been saving hinges for decades from parted out cars. Never use them all before I am dead.
Worn and can't be rebuilt is based on your observation.

The hood hinges are just hard to align. The alignment process for them is counterintuitive. My advice is to leave the air cleaner extension ring off and adjust the front of the hinge "up". I know that sounds crazy but the hood hinges are a bitch to get right. Maybe we have a good body man here that will explain it better?
The "SS"hood spring is wrong for the cowl induction hood (as shown in the link posted).

agree SS wrong the 3877203 spring is correct and shorter . Does the short spring have less tension in opening the hood ?
