Title: 1969 camaro Z/28 harrison radiator tags
Post by: 1MeanBull on March 03, 2021, 04:56:33 AM
hi, hoping someone can help me answer what the smaller factory GM tag represents on the bottom of the Harrison radiator located on the CB tank. it is a skinny metal removable tag about 1/2 wide that appears to have a large "O" stamp into it. the metal looks to be the same gauge as the UH tag that is soldered above. I can not find anything on this tag and what it represents. I have removed the original radiator from its home for the last 52 years and need it have a new core installed. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, John

There is a 1/2" wide clip lower than the UH which held the over flow hose - don't know of another.

Post a pic - but I am betting James is correct.

Was the radiator ever re-cored?  Mine had a crimped-on tag with a BG, and the thought was it came from a radiator shop years ago.

You mean like the AB tag in this picture?
Lots of codes on lots of parts- we don't know the meaning of all of them...

hi, I appreciate the comment. not referring to the over flow hose clip, that clip is on the outside of the radiator tank, this is a removable clip that clips on the same face as the UH tag but at the bottom of the same side. it is the same shape as the radiator tank face, 1/2 inch wide, bends to form the radiator tank and clips under and into the radiator tank, and has a "O" stamp into it. my car is a 1969 Camaro Z/28 survivor with 37,000 miles on it. I have seen only in picture of other Z/28 radiators that have been restored with there original UH tag and the same tag I am referring to. but can not find any thing about this tag. I will take some pictures of the tags and forward them, thanks again. John

The "O" & the"F" are tank codes & the "c" in the middle is March. Read here http://www.camaros.org/coolingsystems.shtml

Hi, these are the tags I removed from my 1969 Z/28. Looking for help to identify the meaning of the skinny removable tag

IS there something stamped in the base on the other side of the slot from the 0 or oval recess?  can I see something with an angle. A 4?

That skinny clip is to hold the bottom of the passenger side fan shroud.

hi, apparently you are correct, and after looking one up mine is broken. I see you can purchase an aftermarket one. thank you very much, greatly appreciated.
