Title: Langhorne Speedway 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 Conv Paced USAC Champ Car 1969
Post by: SMKZ28 on December 22, 2020, 07:50:00 PM
A 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible was used to pace the Langhorne 150 United States Auto Club (USAC) event held at Langhorne International Motor Speedway in Langhorne, Pennsylvania twice.  The first time was on the scheduled day of Sunday, June 15, 1969 but after a few laps were run the race was halted due to torrential rains.  The race was resumed a week later on Sunday June 22, 1969.  Bobby Unser won the race in his Eagle Offenhauser.  I'm not sure if the Camaro was an RS/SS 350 or 396.  I know it's not a good quality picture but this is the only visual evidence of the car I can find.

Just came across some photos of the inside of the souvenir program for this event and noticed that on the first page it states: "OFFICIAL PACE CAR - CAMARO COURTESY OF REEDMAN CHEVROLET"
