Title: Caveat Emptor...tag swap?
Post by: william on July 08, 2020, 04:32:43 AM

From the ad:

"...because the trim tag tells us this was originally a true special order car with special order paint!"

That VIN was final-assembled on or about February 25, 1969. Body tag has a 12C date; third week December, 1968. One or both tags are not original to the car.

Body tag was on eBay February 2011.

Certainly a legit tag but it definitely throws up red flags as you mention.

I wouldn,t buy it just because of the grill surround.
