how can i find out what my original tire size was?

Look on the inside of the glove compartment door for air pressure decal.

It's also listed in the Chassis Service Manual, Section 10, Wheels and Tires in case your tire pressure sticker is missing or illegible. Your tire size is determined by what model Camaro you have.

Tstone,
I remember your earlier posts determining how large your wheels and tires could be. So, now you're looking for original size wheel and tire? The general information (not on your car specifically) that GM will send you lists 14" wheels with 6" rims and 7.35 x 14 tires as standard on a 68 like yours.
Unless you have original documentation or other info. you haven't shared...
