Title: Dash carrier removal
Post by: BillG on October 24, 2019, 03:33:56 PM
Did a search but, did'nt see an answer.  Can the dash carrier be removed with the headlight and wiper switches still attached?  thanks, Bill

Yes, I did it that way, but it's a hassle to get the connectors free without tearing anything up. Some things (like the radio, and I believe I remember the heater controls) have to either come out or clear before you can release the bezel. I left the controls attached to the heater box, and removed them as a unit to keep the cables in place. It's a hassle, but be patient - it'll come out (intact). Be careful with 50 year old plastic - awfully brittle.

Regards,
Steve

Is a dash carrier something unique for '69?
Just curious.....I don't know what it is.  :-[

LOL, as a fellow 67 owner, I was wondering the same thing, and thinking of my center dash cluster. Here's what the 69 entails:

I see now....looks like it probably made assembling the dash easier.

Thanks, Pete!

Amen. Thanks for adding that - mine were out before I started the dash disassembly -
