I've keep seeing this clip on 1967 cars, but it never seems to be there for any reason. It's not shown in the 67AIM. You would think it's there for the parking brake cable, but the clamp doesn't open up enough to hold one. That and the cable doesn't reach. maybe it was out there to temporarily hold the brake line out of the way during the subframe install?
Any insight would be appreciated.
thanks

Ah, the plot thickens as the picture I posted is from an unmolested 67 Pace Car that was restored by Lucas Restorations. It is an original muncie 4spd car. no speedo cable on that side...

I've only been looking at 67 Muncie cars these days as that is what I am restoring. I've seen that clip on several of those cars. Would be interested to know if the clip was on every car...

If the cable came out of the left side of the transmission then it likely got the clip. I'm very sure my 67 LOS L35 w/TH400 has the clip.
I'll be home this Saturday and will look.

I'd look at body piercings to see if there was an exit to the diver's side of the steering column for the speedo cable. I believe 3 speeds (possibly Saginaws, too) would have the clip -
