124379L511984

Built Dec 11,1968 according to NCRS. Has an 010 block and a BV0117 axle. There are tattered remains of a Body Broadcast Copy showing E70 x 15 tires but the portion with the VIN and body number is missing.

From the ad:

"Matching numbers."

Block stamping

Willian, Is normal to see the VIN stamped on the right and Build date (DZ) code on the left of the block?

Only big blocks are like that.

Nice car, but not as described, not even CLOSE! I know it's alot of work to enter things in the DB. But I feel this should be added if possible. More of Williams notes...

124379L511984…final-assembled Dec 11, 1968 per NCRS doc
The Broadcast Copy looks real but the portion that has the VIN and body number is missing. It could be from any Z/28.

Very poor re-stamp. We have no Z/28s in the db with a Nov 12 engine. Z/28s built at the same time in LA have other dates. He also states it has the 3970010 block casting. That block casting didn’t exist until early April 1969.
Zero proof this really was a Z/28.
Ducted hood and ’69 rear spoiler were added or changed. Neither was in production when the car was final-assembled.
Car was built LeMans blue black vinyl top, black stripes. Incorrectly re-finished with no vinyl top and white stripes. Trunk photos show sound deadener not applied to the quarter panels meaning they were replaced.
Service replacement master cylinder
Missing AIR system
Front fender braces are painted black; should be body color
Dip stick should not be painted
Incorrect carb stud
Does not have capacitor for am/fm radio in power line to blower motor

This is 12A first week Dec 1968 NOTE: Seller said 2A, NOT 12A               F560 was the Fisher Body scheduling code NOTE: Seller said this code was only for LA built Z/28's with gauge pack.

Not the original rear axle-Car was built Dec 11, 1968. Could not have an axle built January 17, 1969.

OE covers did not have drippers until very late production. Exhaust manifolds not original.
Distributor [8M13] starter [9A2] carb [9A2] VR [9A] horns [9A3] all not original to the car. Alternator is incorrect; should have 1100837 probably dated 8L23 or 8L27.

The ‘7’ is a core number, nothing to do with application. NOTE: Seller said the embossed 7 casting on the trans was ONLY on the Z/28's.

Block castings weren’t numbered. No idea where ‘4310’ comes from. NOTE: Seller said it was the 4310th one.
VIN sequencing at both plants began at 500001 making this the 11,984th Camaro built at Van Nuys.

Option totals were not tallied by plant. No one knows how many LA Z/28s had an M22 trans.
