Its just dawned on me that my Camaro is 50 years old a few weeks, the trim tag suggests its a week 2 December Build, the Vin is :124377N150838.
Is there a way to refine this "week 2 dec" date to a day or a shift ?
It would be nice to know a more precise date to call its birthday. Do any records like this exist ?

The closest I think we can get is the NCRS report that lists the shipping date to the dealer unless you have a broadcast sheet or an UOIT. As an example my 05B was shipped May 17th per the NCRS report.

In lieu of an NCRS report of the shipment date, a good estimate is as follows:
Based on your VIN (124377N150838) and the 1967-1969 LOS/NOR End-of-Month Monthly VIN Report in CRG archives, we can 'estimate' the actual date based on fairly equivalent daily production over the 21 work days in December 1966. The first Camaro produced in Dec at Norwood was 140231 and the last one was 160043; There were 19813 Camaros built that month of which yours was the 10,608th produced. Norwood was building an average of 943 per day. Based on that average, your car was likely built the 12th work day (on December 16th, a Friday).

Probably not significant for estimating purposes, but JohnZ's assembly process article states Norwood production was 57 cars per hour, or 912 per day over 2 shifts.

John's estimate I'm sure is an average of the production periods, but if you look at the quantity built during December 1966, divide that by the 21 production work days, you'll get 943... unless you are using a different calculator than I am, OR unless the production data shown in the CRG archives is wrong....

John's # is the rate.
The production data has some fluff in it - it's close (most of the time) but not exact.
