Title: 1969 front fender mounting tabs?
Post by: abiddle on September 21, 2016, 03:22:14 PM
Hi - what are these tabs for on the front of my 69 fenders? I know its not the RS option and these don't mate with the grill.

Thanks - Andy

Those are for RS; they mount the headlamp housing.

When I worked in the business we only stocked RS fenders for '69 as they work for either.

Actually, that looks like a standard fender.

I don't know what those tabs are for, but they were the anchor points for the RS conversion I did on my 69 Z in the early 80s.

It's amazing what you can do with some custom bent threaded rod!  ;D

Looking at Kurt's picture it looks standard to me.

IIRC, those are in all fenders. There is an additional brkt that attaches the RS headlight assembly.
