 I'd say the spacing between each number/letter do seem a little w-i-d-e  8)
Looks like imitation broach marks too.

A Van Nuys built car with "PBT" stamping. Someone needed to do more home work before they started on this car.

The engine stamping is so wrong, in many ways.

VIN  124379L523433

Typed appraisal dated Oct 23rd 2013 list the DZ code as V1006DZ but pic shows a bad V1003DZ  :o

Car build date 3rd week of Feb, tranny stamped January 4 & engine assembled October?!?

Transmission case looks to be smoothed out where most were stamped and rest amped as well.

No argument there is a lot to question here, but on the transmission date, early January Muncie assembly dates have been observed in several LOS-built cars up to late March timeframe. I have a Muncie with a March '69 partial VIN, assembled January 4th.
