It finally happened.... the rear window in my 67 started to leak.other than paint it is all original,is there a quick fix that I could get done?Car is garaged but if it is out and a good rain arrives it leaks into trunk, not alot but it does. I realize that some repair will eventually be needed, but looking for a temperay solution if possible. Thanks Randy...Oh by the way it turns 50 the first week of August low vin @266.

As you say, the proper way is to deal with the rust (it never sleeps) but if you need a temporary fix, for example to get through Summer cruising season, I'd pop the exterior mouldings off and find the problem area - often in the lower corners - then apply a bead of silicone sealant.

Randy,
Does your 67 have RPO K30 cruise control?
2x on ZLP955's temporary fix.

How long is this temporary repair going to be before the problem is resolved properly? Silicone sucks to remove and makes window removal more difficult. I've seen entire window channels filled instead of just yanking the glass and fixing the area properly. Any rust or rot is just going to get worse.

Randy, at least to me it sounds like your car deserves a proper, long term fix. Doing the repair will not do anything to hurt the value in regards to originality, but rust DEFINITELY WILL. My advice, get it fixed correctly ASAP.

Pay a glass shop to remove it and urothane it in. That will be the last and permanent fix

Would like to get through until the fall and do the proper repair during winter, as I said it is not outside unless we are on a drive which usually would last ten days at a time and if it rains would be cleaned out as needed..more of a pain if luggage is in trunk and gets a little damp..Randy
