Title: Deluxe Interior
Post by: 6672DRIVER on April 25, 2016, 04:53:19 AM
Just purchased a '69 and need to determine how far to go on the interior. it originally came with the deluxe interior, and does have the correct seats/door panels.  The interior has been redone (different color), and does not have the woodgrain trims. Did the woodgrain trim come as part of the deluxe interior? If so, how are the repro woodgrain kits, anyone?

Thanks

Gary

That's something that's always been a bit confusing to me as far as the wood trim goes, as you see so many that have some of it, all of it, or none at all with such a mixed bag of interior options.

Do you have deluxe houndstooth or deluxe comfort weave?

Mine is deluxe houndstooth and has woodtrim across the entire dash on everything, including the steering wheel and console.  That may have been a part of another trim option though...I don't know

That subject has been discussed in great detail previously, and a conclusion reached using the options lists and information from knowledgable sources here (Kurt, William, et al).. so an advanced search might find you the answer pretty quickly?

I guess it's me but even that detailed description seems a bit confusing.   As far as the simulated wood on the dash goes, it's not real clear where Z87 ends and Z23 begins...or maybe I'm just not seeing it.

A lot of cars you see it's as if there are 3 packages, not 2, lol....
I've seen the wood left of the steering column and that's it.  Others continue on and have it on the right of the steering column for the radio, (only one of those should be correct I would think???)
While some have the entire dash covered (glove box etc..) like mine.   When you have that then the car should have wood grain on the standard steering wheel according to that link (which mine does)

You're not the only one who is, or has been, confused by all that.. :)    When we discussed this before, it seems that various combinations of options dictated the differing configurations... ??

some of the discussion was here...

After reading that it sounds like these cars had a mixed bag of things, lol.  Some with this or that, either or, some or none, LOL  Sounds like a hodge podge.

After seeing the various configurations, right or wrong, I've come to the conclusion myself I'd rather have all of it, or none of it.  Just having part of it makes the interior appear (to me) that it's missing something.   Even after reading all that Gary, I still don't have my head wrapped around it.  Mine has all that stuff so I'm just going to roll with it  ;)

Wrong link. Try http://www.camaros.org/interior.shtml#woodgrain
I also redid the Z23 vs Z87 table to make it clearer (it was *#&! before!) and moved it to the interior page right above the woodgrain section.

Wow thanks Kurt, must be how my brain works.  I read the new stuff and it clicked right away, lol.

I've redone all the pages of the site over the years - that was a holdout that I never got around too. The right info, but it needed better presentation. ;)
