Title: 68 RS/SS Data Plate

Hi can someone help me decode the tag on a 68 RS/SS?

Body by Fisher
O5D  S054
ST68-14327   LOS 40439 Body
TR 714     Q-2 Paint


In particular what paint code is Q-2?

Are you sure it is Q?  2 would be for a black vinyl top.  Maybe the Q is realy an O or a G?

I am certain it is a "Q".

The car has a lot of options like the Tilt Steering Wheel, Turn Signal Indicators in the top front fenders, Remote control driver side mirror, black DeLuxe Interior, front Disc brakes, Air Conditioning, 396 engine, 12 bolt Rear Axle.

I just bought the car out of an old garage and it hasn't been started/driven in 15 years (Or that is what I was told).

The car has been repainted and I would like to know what the data plates says and what the "Q" code color is.  I did know the -2 meant "black vinyl top" although it had been removed when the car was repainted.

As you are discovering, we 68 owners cannot glean a lot from the trim tag...
Also, check that ST68-14327.  From your description, it should read ST68-12437 =V-8 2 door sport coupe.  05D is 4th week of May. TR-714 is black custom buckets.  Q was not an exterior color code before or after the January 68 color revision.  (That's why Daniel wants to see the tag.)
BTW, those "turn signal indicators" are a whole lot more than that.  It's RPO U46, the Light Monitoring System.  Take a look at this thread:

Yes but I'll have to get my G/F to do it.  It will be some time this weekend.  Can I link it into this forum?

OK the typo "14327" was my mistake.  It should read "12437" but the "Q" is on there without a doubt;  it is stated as "Q-2".
