OK.....here's a goody.....
Has anyone seen the CORRECT version of the radiator petcock used on 1st gen Camaros?
According to an un-named expert, the "ears" are suposed to point away from the radiotor tank, towards the engine, not like the ones sold from our beloved Camaro parts vendors.
The end is also fluted....
Has anyone seen these "correct versions" for sale anywhere?
I have one that is original to my surviving radiator, but looking for one that's got the correct gold cad plating.
Thanks.....

Just stumbled on this thread camaronut and your absolutely right!
Is this the type you mean?
It's totally different from the "nos" ones out there.

My 02D '69 has the original radiator, and the petcock is exactly the same configuration as the one in the photo above - ears toward the engine.

All originals point towards the engine,

Thanks for the replies.
Is camaronut correct about the gold clad plating?
-
Probably, it's hard to say with 40 years of being in the elements.

I found a couple of these already reproduced - by mistake I think. Gold Cad plating too!!!
Danchuck had them, and there getting hard to find with the ears pointing towards the engine.
The part number was "400", and comes with a hose on the fluted end...
I'll post a picture as soon as I can
I know...I'll wait for B-J next year and have it auctioned-off!!!!
I'll make millions!!!!! ::)
