I just checked the driver seat belt and it is 13 F 69. The back seat is 12E 69. This car came with deluxe seat belt and front shoulder belts as an option. The shoulder belts are marked 43 C 68 both sides.

My engine stamp and this is where it got interesting for me, but I found this thread on this site. The car in the link was built same week(05A) as mine in the LOS plant. The car in the link is stamped the same way but his engine stamp is off one number to his serial number. Mine is the correct number but stamped across the DZ stamp using random fonts. Well, I hate to say it but you fellows are correct. The more I look the more signs I see of a repaint. Small amount of orange over spray on the door rubber. Orange on the fog lamp cord. Then when I look at the white stripes I noticed a faith line off to the side under the orange. I think it's the old stripe line. I noticed the trunk bumpers are painted orange also. I apologize for my 90% factory paint statement. The good news is this will end my decision on whether to repaint the car or not....its not original now so it don't matter. The documentation is what drew me back to the car anyways. It wasn't the paint job for sure.

Fair enough. I questioned it being original myself but was told it was from the seller. Her daddy bought it new. I question the road rash on the car. I walked up front(fog light area) and I see enough rock chips to equal 94 K miles. I looked behind the tires and there was some but not a lot. I noticed the trim around the fenders had been changed.  Then I look through the receipts and see where daddy had mud flaps put on the car at the dealership. Yes, I said it mud flaps! Other than on the doors and rear quarters I honestly can't tell where it has been touched up. I couldn't see the touched-up areas in pictures prior to me seeing the car and still can't in those pictures. I took pictures myself yesterday and I can't see it in those either. The owner claimed she didn't know it had been touched up, but I can clearly see it. I showed her right before I passed on the car the first time. I don't see any touch ups in the cowl area on the orange. If it was then whoever done it should have redone the doors. Now the black might have been repainted when the engine was pulled. Sorry If I mislead you with my 90% factory paint. I'm still not convinced it's not factory paint though. I know its lacquer paint for sure. If it was repainted, then it was done prior to 1984 for sure. In fact, it had to be touched up prior to 1984 so it was painted prior to that if it was.  Just don't make sense to me. Too many small dings here and there from years of use. Then again some of those dings could have happened during storage. Car was parked in storage in 1984.

Here is the original tag. She cleaned up pretty good.

Bell housing pictures. Hard to get without a lift. The car still has the reverse lockout on it. I don't see any balancing marks on the driveshaft, but it was most likely painted.

Tag bracket with a GM number. I also noticed a K A 24 stamped on the body panel behind the tag bracket. I see a 24 stamped in one corner under the trunk lid on the body.

Let me know what you want to see. Just keep in mind somebody went through the car and made it road worthy after setting since 1984. I noticed they painted the valve covers, intake manifold, and smog pump. The underside of the car looks to be undercoated at the factory as you can see the proportional valve took a good cleaning when checking out the brakes. New exhaust, shocks was installed at that time. The motor was pulled and gone through. The carb was replaced with another DZ stamped carb. The original owner put a set of header pipes on the car at one time, The header pipes connected to the smog system. Odd I know but remember this was a California car. The headers were taken off and regular manifolds was put back on the car. The UH radiator is still in the car. Just some history to get us started. Here is some random pictures.

 1969 z28 RS with the original born with drive train. 90% of the paint is original and the orange houndstooth interior is original. All original glass. YH wheels. Its LOS car with a built date of 05A. It was purchased new at Fletcher Jones Chevrolet in California for $4082.24. The original purchaser traded in a 1961 ford T bird for a $100 and paid cash for the remaining balance. The car was purchased on July 29,1969. He kept the car until he passed away in 2017. He put 94K miles on it.  His daughter inherited the car. At that point, the car had been stored with a cover on it since 1984. This is documented because the car came with every registration card from 1969 to 1985. The car still has the original California tag with a 1984 sticker on it. The 1985 sticker is still on the registration card. She had the car gone over by somebody. They went over the car from one end to the other. The car cover had embedded itself into the paint, so it required a great deal of buffing. The gas tank was removed, and the build sheet was found on top. Once the car was road ready, I think she was scared to drive and enjoy the car for fear of what might happen to it, so she decided to sale it.

  I found it listed for sale and we agreed on a price. Only way I would buy it was look at it first. So, I flew out to Arizonia and looked at the car. Decided I would pass on it because both doors had been touched up from, I assume door dings over the years. I figured I would have to paint the car to be happy. It wasn't in the budget at the sale price we agreed on. Once I returned home, I continued my search for another one. Didn't take long to realize maybe I should take a second look. I called the buyer back up and renegotiated a new price that we both could live with, and I bought it. While it is a cool car the documentation on this car is why I had to take a second look. As mentioned before the registration cards from 1969 to 1985, the factory build sheet, the original window sticker, original bill of sale, the anti-thief key replacement chip, original owner manual, protect o plate, original title, and a thank you card from the original salesman to the original purchaser, along with receipts over the years dating back to 1969 of work he done to the car.  There is also a pamphlet/paper that I assume was wrapped around the steering column from the factory talking about how to start the car and the anti-thief protection.

  I want to thank this site for the information here as well. You sure helped me with due diligence on this purchase.
