Bumblebee Stripe placement
« on: May 31, 2008, 10:12:20 AM »
i am helping a friend tape up his 1968 camaro with 250 engine emblems for the bumble bee stripe. The problem is that when I follow the factory specs. on were it should be as far as the distances on the header panel the 250 emblems do not totally land within the large part of the stripe. The emblems seem to be offset and to the rear portion of the stripe. I have taped up and painted many of these stripes and never have I ever seen the emblem placement turn out this way. Could the 259 signs be drilled wrong from the factory and better yet what can be done to correct it. We have been told by the original owner that these emblems have never been moved or replaced since the car was new. Thanks for any feedback.

I'm no expert on the '68, but the '69 didn't get an emblem if it had the L6 engine ( 230, 250).

I know emblems were manufactured, but the AIM shows that the D/90 stripe was uninterrupted
where the emblem location was if an L6 was ordered.  Not really sure about an L6 non-D/90 car though.

Thanks for that thought. I almost think someone has put the 250 emblems in the wrong location
