Title: 1967 RS hood release handle black-out
Post by: Buzz1967 on May 25, 2015, 02:48:16 AM
Hello Group!

I'm in the midst of my '67 RS/SS 396 restoration. my question is the finish of the hood release and handle. I know the hood release was finished from the factory with grey phosphate. I've now learned that the hood release handle was blacked out with semi-gloss black.

My question is this: Where does the semi-gloss black paint end? I want to get this correct.

I'll have to look at mine, I think its all black but may have been done incorrectly by the guy I got the car from.

Isn't the presence of black paint on the handle end an open question still??  Or have you found confirmation that this was done in the factory?
