General Discussion / Re: Magnaflow exhaust

Thanks for commenting. I bought the system and put it on the car on the wekend. Fit really nice, and has a good sound, throaty but not too loud. I was impressed with the quality and fit of the system. The only adjustment I had to make was cutting the front pipes the right lenght to meet the collectors.

I bought a '68 base coupe May of 2008 and put 1500 miles on it in the summer. It's a plain jane 250 c.i. powerglide. Putting in a 350-300hp, TH-350, power steering, detailing the chassis, and then fresh body and paint in April for the summer cruising ahead. Plan to rebuild the original 250 and PG and save in case I ever want to put back to original. Cheers.

Have to agree. It's great to see inflated prices if you already own something but BJ has made many cars out of reach price wise for many looking to buy, and those inflated values have just encouraged the low-life element to start selling clones as legitimate factory cars.

Anyone running a Magnaflow exhaust sytem on their car? I'm thinking of getting the MagnaFlow #15895 system for my '68 with a 350. It uses a transverse muffler like the original system but is 2-1/2 stainless front to back. Wondering if it is a good fitting system. Thanks.

General Discussion / '68 Power steering conversion
« on: February 04, 2009, 03:10:38 PM »
I recently picked up  a power steering box, pump, hoses, and brackets off a '67 Camaro and want to install on my manual steering '68. Should this simply be a bolt-in installation or are there components that differ? I know the pitman arm and steering arm are different and have aquired them new. But I'm not sure if the p/s cars used the same column as manual steering.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a '68 case coupe I am building, original 84,000 mile car, with one repaint in the eighties. Just wondering if the wheel opening mouldings were standard on all Camaro's. The first car I ever owned in the 70's was a 68' base coupe and I don'e remember it having  wheel mouldings or the rocker mouldings. I have the GM Canada documentation on the car and it doesn't have them listed as an option on the car.

Also the roof drip rail mouldings are stainless as the car was an original vinyl roof car. Did non-vinyl base coupes have this moulding as well. Thanks
