It is a nice looking car for sure. But I must be snooty or just bored.  With all of the attention given to such things as assembly chalk marks and paint marks added under the hood I think I see some issues. Please comment on these: I am doubting that the hounds tooth interior has not been replaced, the steering wheel grain looks incorrect, incorrect Hurst shift lever, incorrect exhaust, zip ties on the heater hoses, no spare and a black grille? with the surround not painted to match body color and the grille emblem placed incorrectly?

Let me know if I am wrong but I'd be willing to bet that the tag is also a FAKE

Here's one that I scrapped. At first I kicked myself for not cutting the roof off and saving it. But I felt lucky about selling the driver side hinge pillar for $300. Anyway it's gone and it won't end up on ebay. I may have kept the cowl tag section and VIN plate though (V8 car).

If the vin and the cowl tag are gone, what good is it? I don't see one usable panel on that car. If it had a vin tag and you could use the firewall to graft another car to then maybe. This is a boat anchor! IMHO

Did the right hand drive Camaro come from the factory with the rear stripes too close together ?

It's an early-built car, from memory September of '68, and there is a thread on this forum somewhere that showed (with photos) a number of early cars had the same rear stripe layout as the previous years did, and also that the stripes stopped further back from the rear window trim than later cars did. I'll see if I can find that thread and post the URL.

Same car was listed on ebay for $375,000 last week. This time they took out the part of the story referring to the trunk pan being cut out to fit the slicks, the ensuing law suit against the shop that botched the work,the body replacement, the Ford 9" rear end added and the custom (I think it was a yellow and red paint job and 10 second quarter mile ets. All prior to the complete restoration.

 Until the unions stop giving money to the left, they are going to continue to sink. If you give your money to a union, you are supporting the left completely right now. I see guys getting out of the union constantly because of that. Think about it if you are a union steward, president etc. Time for some union policy changes if you want to survive.

Not going to quit? Sometimes it is easier to attack someones character then to debate the issue. FACTS are FACTS and OPINIONS are OPINIONS (sometimes based on facts) If someone is getting their information from CSNBC they might tend to disagree w/ the "facts" reported on FOX. If someone is getting their information from FOX they might tend to disagree w/ the "facts" reported on CSNBC. However belittling and ridiculing a person based on their assumed political affiliation aq determined by their OPINION does not make for a healthy debate of the FACTS.


Back to the Pretty Cool Ole Car... and examples of FACTS vs OPINIONS

FACT: The car came from the factory painted Olympic Gold

OPINION 1: Olympic Gold is the best color ever
OPINION 2: Olympic Gold sucks out loud

FACT: The car is not a Z/28

OPINION 1: Too bad it would be really cool of it were a Z/28
OPINION 2: Who cares? I'm not a Z lover

FACT: The paint is in poor condition

OPINION 1: Looks fine. Clean it up, drive it and call it a survivor
OPINION 2: Restore it and paint it Hugger Orange. All '69 Camaros should be either Hugger Orange or Azure Turquoise, except the one (also not a fact) that came painted Champagne.

As far as I'm concerned, GM should have went out. If my business goes bankrupt, who bails me out? Nobody. Oh, that's right, I'm not one of the "special" people who get bailed out by the taxpayer. (nor do I wish or expect to be) Politicians didn't ante up the bail out funds. They took funds from me, and millions of other tax payers.

I guess we're going to keep talking politics. If your business goes "bankrupt"  you are being "bailed out" depending on how you file you will only be responsible for a portion or none of your incurred debt and in some cases can continue to operate your business. Who pays for that? other consumers, business owners and tax payers. Unfortunately some people both conservative and liberal use this as a business model. Bail outs for big businesses are a touchy subject a lot of jobs and effects on the economy at stake, although I don't think that the "top dogs" running these failed businesses should come out of it virtually unscathed.
Did I mention that i am a fan of the "flat hood" 69 Z/28's?

We're not disagreeing..     One could remove the hood, and it still would be a Z28..
