After 43 years, it's unlikely that many 69's have their original carburetors, unless the owner bought the car new and know for sure that the carb has never been changed.

Only one correct carb - 7029204 FF.

Probably not original. I've never seen that 7029200 carb on an original car. Not sure what carlines did use them.
Personally, I'd use it and not worry about it if it runs good. It's what was intended, but for whatever reason, didn't get used.

It is the one part missing from my car.....

I just read in Jerry's book "THE DEFINITIVE 1969 CAMARO Z/28-SS396 FACT BOOK" page 142 7029200 was for the 396-325hp with AT

Yes, several sources will reprint GM data. Doesn't make it anymore right.
Out of 6000 69's, I know of none with that carb. Furthermore, I know of several documented with broadcast sheets - all are FF carbs.

Would that carb also be true for L34?

As Kurt posted above, the L34 and L35 engines for 1969 got the EH (manual transmission) or FF (automatic transmission) carb.

Kurt and Ed with all do respect I hear you both but I was just trying to hear from someone who actually has this exact car/options combination. I do understand that many people copy prints. In Jerry's book he also States that the 9200 was the carb for that combination. Please don't take this as disrespect. Can you tell me what the 9200 carb was for?

FYI, Chevrolet By The Numbers lists:

7029200 1969 Camaro 396/325 A/T
7029201 1969 Camaro 396/325 S/T

7029204 1969 Camaro 396/350 A/T
7029215 1969 Camaro 396/350 S/T

There are obviously more cars listed under each part#.

You guys know what has been observed on the cars.  Just thought I would throw that out there...

I just looked at my carb number, 11A 396-325 AT, as stamped 29200EE. I assume the complete # 7029200EE. Is this a Chevrolet replacement carb?
George.

Wasn't there a recall due to the issues caused by the intake manifold hot slots either causing fires and/or carb plates to warp? Could this have been a replacement if the dealer deemed the carb should be replaced?

Just a thought.

My ’69 396 325HP Auto w/o AC Van Nuys Camaro had a 7029200 EE carb on it when I purchased it in ’81.  For years I thought it was the original correct carb, as most if not all publications back then only referenced that carb.  However, over time I discovered two things;  the carb’s date code was several months later than the car build date, and my chassis broadcast copy box 176 appears  to have code FF.  With this information, I decided to shelve the 7029200 and went with a 7029204 FF.

but I was just trying to hear from someone who actually has this exact car/options combination.
But I'm looking at data from people with that exact car/options combination. Decade of data vs just who is online today.......

Lots of cars like GVBill's where the orig carb has been replaced.
