Originality / Re: Hood Insulation Pad Interference
« on: October 22, 2022, 05:01:40 PM »
Unfortunately, That Entry Level Cheaper (Affordable) Generic under hood insulation is just that.

I believe there are two mfr. (versions) of the Molded flat hood insulation that have nicer features and better sizing. Which includes increase initial cost and shipping (Flat)

Then there is an opportunity to get the correct four hole plastic retainers also.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Flywheel Number
« on: October 21, 2022, 06:24:09 PM »
Well, to my mind would be, the Motor might have been balanced with the Existing Flywheel and now you are introducing a different flywheel that was NOT balanced with the rotating assembly, is this wise or acceptable?
I am not sure

Just throwing it out there for discussion purposes.

Guys?

General Discussion / Re: 1969 Camaro Z/28

It could be a case of insufficient "reach"  or length on the replacement rivets and they are cocked and barely gripping on the inner structure.

Funky for SURE!

Garage Talk / Re: Crazy Bid
« on: October 05, 2022, 12:06:04 AM »
Well you are correct the Results indicate 242k, I am betting a typo of 42k.
There is NOTHING to my eyes that would drive two bidders to even rise to that listed sale price.
I do not know the story, but I doubt it is a real result.

NUT, Hex Flange Stamped, thread cutting
PN 9419753
1/8 HX FLNG STAMPD NUT 5/16 AF .53 D BLK ZC. 10 pk
Source AMK part number B-10629

Now this might be close, the trunk Nut likely had sealer and carried a different Fisher (GM) PN
The pins on the Header and trunk 68/69 emblems are small and I think going off memory they are smaller than say a 8-32 machine screw thread.

Others have better catalogs and parts books and will chime in also.
