Hi Frank -

All the info I provided is stamped (recessed) into the metal housing of the clock. The only part that is stamped in red ink is the date. It looks like this:      D  JAN 20 1968

Very interesting! Any thoughts anyone?

Paul

That is it Paul-on closer look mine is stamped the same

GENERAL TIME CORPORATION
PRECISION PRODUCTS & PARTS DIV.
SALES OFFICE - DEARBORN, MICHIGAN
PATENTED U.S.A.

And the date code is red ink stamp

Decoding/Numbers / julian Date
« on: February 05, 2007, 05:30:13 PM »
How do you figure julian dates?
Is it every day  or do weekends not count?

So
157 would be 157th day in 1967 calander year
and that would be
June 6th 1967  ??? if all days count

Originality / Re: Power steer pump cap
« on: February 05, 2007, 04:07:18 AM »
I am corrected from my prior post of possible overspray on my cap. :-[
Jerry is right  ;D

My cap is natural-the black was old grim and the under side shows no signs of ever being painted-now (that I have it apart to reseal it).
On another post I checked the pump numbers which are correct also and un restored or replaced since new like the cap.
Thanks
Jerry

5691676 is the correct PS box for a First Generation Camaro (among other years and cars). 298 is the Julian date (October 24th) so it depends on when your car was built.

Ed

3rd week Nov 67(I put that in sig now to help us)
So once again it is correct-I just loving researching this car as I am restoring it

The help and knowledge of the CRG forum is priceless !

Thanks Again ED

Hi Frank -

I have a different number on my windshield wiper motor which I believe is original. Here's the number and how it looks on the end frame:
5045441
 TYPE E
    12V
Are you sure the first "one" is not a "four"? I also don't see a date code on the outside of mine.

Paul
Paul-
Yes it is a 1-maybe because it is a early 68???
Thanks
Frank

Edit by frank-2/5/07
I am a dumb a -I typed it wrong it is a 4

Frank -

Where on the pump did you find your numbers? I checked mine and I don't see any numbers on the pump or reservoir. Of course, it's pretty grimy down there.

Paul

Hi Paul,
They are on the main pump body-you have to remove the resvoir to see them.
I am trying to do a total number doc on this car on everything I can find-since I knew its history from the original owner.
