I have a 69 Z/28 built at the Van Nuys plant in March 1969. Since that plant do not use "X" codes to identify the Z/28's did they use the D80 code on the trim tag to identify rear spoiler cars?
-
No, LOS cars didn't get that coding on the trim tag either.

Hi, what week in March ? Mine is the 4 week 03D Daytona Yellow with standard int.
-
ban617 - mine was built the same week 03D, Fathom Green with standard Dark Green interior
-
The last of my vin is 144
-
....872
-
Mine is 04A and VIN falls smack between those two - 528419. Either of you get your actual production date from NCRS?
-
VN production is more difficult to estimate, but I'd guess 3 April was your production day ZLP (L528419)... hopefully one of those guys you solicited will have their production date for you to refine... :)
-
Tim's is 4/3. :)
-
Yes, I had to humbly apologise earlier this year when I stated my production date was definitely April 1st, then re-checked my NCRS letter to find it was actually April 3rd.......
Just curious how the other 2 member's car production dates fit in around mine.
-
I have NCRS documentation stating mine was born on March 26, 1969 and was delivered to Russ Watkins Chevrolet, Victorville, CA.
-
Thanks Prackman - so your car is 03D, produced 03/26/69 with VIN sequence 528872?
-
Tim - my vehicles VIN sequence is 527872
-
Tim - my vehicles VIN sequence is 527872
Thanks, my mistake - realised after posting that it must've been 527.....
-
Mine is L528144 so your 03D was before mine ? Did the Vin numbers run just you would count ? 144,145,146 ?
-
I do believe the VIN's were issued in sequence.
March 26 was a Wednesday and I believe my vehicle was the 268th vehicle made that day, so yours could have followed later that day or later in the week.
-
If you're getting the 268th vehicle from the trim tag, that's not correct.
That's a scheduling # and has to do with when it was *scheduled* to start, not when it finished.
-
Kurt - thanks for clarifying
