That car sold for $236,500 (inc commission) BJ 2006 when is was white with standard black seats. I like it better now and it's half the price!

Seriously??  :o

Should have wood grain in steering wheel if rest of interior is correct? At least it's not a wood wheel.  ::)

General Discussion / Re: 50’s & 60’s Assembly line workers

A friend of mine is the paint shop manager at the Ft Wayne truck plant. He showed me where they had finally automated the body to chassis drop and no longer needed line workers. He said that was some of the toughest work in the plant because the workers had to constantly lift their hands over their heads to guide the body down.

Originality / Re: Muncie identification sticker ?
« on: April 14, 2020, 07:27:38 PM »
The broadcast code for a Muncie would have been on the chassis broadcast sheet, correct? And it would have been the same code regardless of make, plant, etc, correct? I know there is are almost no copies of Camaro broadcast sheets from Norwood, but what about LA? Isn't the broadcast copy on top of the gas tank the chassis broadcast sheet? Same for corvette tank sticker? And are there any existing chassis sheets from other lines, ie,  impala, nova, or chevelle?

I find it interesting that Chevrolet would change the casting (the pad) without changing the part no.?

So you guys are saying that there are (you've seen?) legitimate documented Z28 engines cast in Tonawanda (although machined/assembled in Flint of course)...?   Other than for 'test' purposes, or a problem at one of the foundries, it's difficult for me to believe that raw castings were routinely (or even rarely) passed between the foundries...?   I'd love to see/hear some proof of that happening if it did... and I will modify my view.

I'm know I'm old, etc. and my memory is suspect. For some reason, I think I remember reading something about Tonawanda shipping blocks to Flint at one point for reasons I cannot recall. Production problems maybe, or ? Maybe I dreamed that.  ???

So are the 12 bolt housings identical, that is, will a 2, 3 or 4 series Carrier fit in any housing? I've heard these terms for years, but never really understood what they meant. until today!  :)

Tonawanda DZ suffix?

Not possible (from the factory) ...    The pad even appears to be sanded in addition to the various machine marks...   ugh...

Yup, Flint only.
