I have seen from other postings that JohnZ's original dip stick is the crimped model. So I know what I need to find but my quesitons is what was the green tipped dip stick used in. So many listings say Z's but but I now know that is incorrect. Thanks!

I used the cable-tie method and it worked OK. Mark the seat and cover to ensure each tie goes in to the exact loaction. Hook them lose and when completed pull tight until you get the correct depth. Cut the seat cover hole for the cable tie wider then you need so you have a little adjustment from back to front when all the cables are in. I must say after doing all the work on my restorations seat covers were the biggest pain in the butt. I have 1 more bottom to do and there done. I would rather be doing ANYTHING else on the car, barr none, then these covers. Good luck!

Thanks Rich, Thats what I was thinking. I guess I'll hold on to it and use the new one.

Its one of those pieces that you say "no one can see it" "pain to repalce if it goes bad". Is it worth using an original even if its in perfect shape or just replace it with new so you don't have to worry about a failure? Would judges even care?

Did the 69 - 302 manifolds come with the bolts locks for the front and back exhaust manifold bolts from the factory. And if so, were they just flat stainless?

The backup switch mentioned is located on a switch on the steering column under the dash. There is a slide contact that is moved when the car is shifted into reserve. This sliding is due to the lockout linkage moving the cloumn internals when the shifter moves into reverse. I am sure someone can explain this better.
This is for a 4 sp, btw.

Nope thats the correct location for the cowl induction wiring. I have a pic of an original I used to verify mine and its in the exact same location.
