This vehicle has been for sale in my neck of the woods for about a month and has just been lowered $1000.00 to $18500.00. The vehicle is very original, but has a lot of rust! Anyway, please add it in the database. The future owner might need this info some day. Thanks again.

Thanks Paul. I've added it. A couple of additional requests:
1. Can you send me a few pictures of the car if possible?
2. Can you tell me your last name so I can say who it was submitted by?
3. Any way to get the current owners name?
4. If and when it sells, any way to get the new owners name?
You can email me at bertfam@pcmagic.net
Thanks

Hi Ed -
I've already emailed you the information you requested. Let me know if you don't receive it. Does the CRG have some type of "form" one can take with them on a car inspection so the relative numbers and info can be recorded without leaving something pertinent out? I was thinking about creating one, but thought if the CRG had one already I'd go with it. Thanks again for adding this Camaro to the database. Hope the info proves useful.
Paul
-
Thanks Paul. Yes, I did get your email and have added the pictures.
As for an official form, that's a good idea. I've never seen one, but I'm sure one could be made fairly easily. I'll talk to the other guys about getting something made and posted.
Ed
-
Thanks Ed -
When you guys get something completed, please shoot me a copy. Since I've brought my Camaro back home, I've been finding a lot of first generation Camaros around. Funny how that works, it seems I tend to spot the same vehicles that I'm driving more so than others. ???

Any progress on this form yet? I found a beautiful Fathom Green '69 X-11 convertible yesterday and could have documented the vehicle if the woman had more time. It made me think "CRG form".
Paul
-
Paul, I'll let Kurt answer this one but I think they're overloaded on data right now, so there's a hold on taking any more cars. Kurt told me they're more interested in "quality' and not "quantity", but if you have the Trim Tag, VIN, etc... he might be interested.
Kurt?

The old Camaro Corral Mag had a form in it when they started the decode of the first gen Camaro's. I will see if I can find a copy of it and get some digital photo's of it. Ed I will e-mail you the photo's and you can do with them as you see. Hope they are not to large. Weston

Vin# 124378N432602 is it in there? 68 ZZ code 712 no console BU rear DF K1 wheels, 291 heads, M21 with Vin# stamped, 83K miles.
-
Yes, we have a data form to record data. I can send it to you.
Real issue is getting the data into the db format. That's what takes the time.
As Ed indicates, with the db at over 14,000 cars, we're looking for quality over quantity. Specifically, VIN & tag - and drivetrain date(s) or RPO's (via docs).
Jay,
No, that VIN is not in the db.
-
Hi KurtS,
So now I'm wondering about my car. ??? It's a 69 SS 350 vin# 124379n705683 10-69 build date. You got it on your list? 8)
Joe
-
No, it is not.
-
Would you be posting that form? Or snail mailing it?
Joe
-
I sent it to him.

My 69 Z's vin #124379N602043. I'm looking for any info about previous owners. I bought the car in 1978.
-

-
It's missing a digit between the "7" and the "N".
-
its 124378n338222
-
No, it isn't.

However, that car (along with 3 others) was being sold in one lot on ebay by "software2030" on 4-23-07 with the following description:
( 1968 ) GENUINE Z-28 4 SPEED
10E
68-12437 NOR 38188
712 C2
VIN - 124378N338222 ( NOT NUMBERS MATCHING )
HAS THE ORIGINAL CALIPER BRAKES THAT WERE LIMITED TO ONLY 365 Z-28 CAMAROS, MOST ALL OF THE INTERIOR, ALL CHROME AND BUMPERS, RUNNING V-8 383 STROKER WITH A TH400 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, ORIGINAL 10-BOLT REAREND, ALL ORIGINAL METAL, NEW WELDED FLOOR PANS, NO TITLE. THE CAR IS AN ORIGINAL 4 SPEED AND HAS BEEN CONVERTED OVER TO AN AUTOMATIC WITH THE ORIGINAL CLUTCH STILL IN PLACE ON THE FLOOR. THE MOTOR IN THIS PARTICULAR CAR IS VERY STRONG AND POSITIVELY FAST! THE CAR HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH WWW.CAMAROS.ORG AND OTHER SITES TO BE AN AUTHENTIC Z-28 CAR!
There are a few things wrong with his statement:
1. Original caliper brakes that were limited to only 365 Z-28 Camaros.
For 1968 the J52 Power Disk Brake option wasn't a "Z-28 only" package. A total of 20,117 cars came that way.
2. Original 10 bolt rear end.
The Z-28 was equiped with a 12 bolt axle.
3. The car has been verified through WWW.CAMAROS.ORG and other sites to be an authentic Z-28 car.
Who on this site authenticated this car???
His description has now been modified a bit saying the 10 bolt isn't original. here's the CURRENT AUCTION (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/L-K-1968-CAMARO-Z-28-W-4-PISTON-CALIPERS-NO-RESERVE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ39405QQihZ001QQitemZ110120659352QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW), and the PREVIOUS AUCTION (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Camaro-L-K-3-1968-CAMAROS-1-1967-CAMARO-Z-28-L-K_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6161QQihZ001QQitemZ110118725448QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW).

Also, why would anybody remove the power brake booster??? ::)
Paul

His auction's been deleted, but here's the NEW ONE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Camaro-L-K-1968-CAMARO-Z-28-W-4-PISTON-CALIPERS-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ110121222180QQihZ001QQcategoryZ6161QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).

He's still using CRG as a source of verification. I gather he thinks it's a "Real Z" because someone stuck a Z28 emblem on the grill. I really wonder about some folks.

Which wasn't even factory for the '68 model year! :(

It is, but there's not much info on it. It was submitted by "bowties" on this site. HERE'S (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=6967.0) the thread mentioning his car, and HERE'S (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=6993.msg45789#msg45789) the thread where he's looking for the original engine.
