Title: 1960 Impala 4 door sport sedan
Post by: westonz28 on November 08, 2019, 03:07:17 PM
Just picked up a family cruiser with the 348 engine. It does not have to month and week stamped on the trim tag. The Trim tag is 60-1839 Body SL 11466 and the engine it coded TO128G and Vin # is 01839S174179. Is or does anyone on here have a way of checking the Vin # to the engine date to see if it is the original engine. I know we have data to compare vin #'s to trim tags for Camaro's. Thanks Weston

I just went an email to Warren (he has a large full size car database), so maybe he can answer your question, but here's what I get:

60-1839 - 1960 4 door hardtop sport coupe
T0128G - 1960 348/250 with 4bbl and Powerglide assembled on January 28th, 1960
01839S174179 - 1960 4 door hardtop sport coupe assembled at St Louis, MO. Yours was the 74,179th car built at that plant.

Yes that is what I found out but would like to know if the engine lines up with the Vin number. It is Sateen Silver with black and white houndstooth interior. Thank you for forwarding the question. Weston
