Thanks John, That was going to be a question soon.  I also found a piece of red wire on the drivers side sill that was obviously cut as close as possible at both ends.  The hole in the dash made it easy to figure the defogger option out.  I had no idea what the red one was for though since the defogger was long since robbed from the car.  I take it the fogger was grounded out back and powered from the fuse box.  I have not looked at the schematic yet but am heading there after I hit the post button.

Great info!  I didn't realize that the Impala was built on the same line.  I noticed the 67 Impala grill behind the camaro at the drive off.  They must have done all the models together?

Great!!  Thanks I could not remember which side I took it from.  The car did have a rear speaker from the looks of it.  I'm putting the car  back the way it was so I'll put it back into service.
Thanks again Joe

General Discussion / Blue wire? Where does it go/what does it do...
« on: March 29, 2009, 05:41:46 PM »
Since the day I took my car apart for restoration I've wondered what this wire is for.  When I took up the carpet  I found a blue wire that runs from front to back. It's also inside a plastic tube to protect it.  If memory serves me it ran in the drivers side sill channel into the trunk.  The car had a rear defogger or could it be a rear speaker wire?  One side of the speaker was body ground? right?

General Discussion / Re: i need a title and plats for 1969 camaro help

Contact Broadway Title.  http://www.broadwaytitle.com/    They will get you a title from the state they are located in then you go to your stste and do a title transfere.  I have 2 friends that used them. Took about 6 weeks.  They were able to get a Massachusetts title.   Plates...On eBay ::)  There are places that will make you a trim plate but not a Vin plate.  There are three places on a Camaro that have to match.  The dash Vin plate, a partial number on the cowl under the cowl panel and under the blower motor.  You can sort of figure what you'll have to do to get the #'s right.  Another cars cowl section with the dash...  Good luck

General Discussion / rain gutter stainless
« on: March 17, 2009, 12:06:09 AM »
Is there some sort of a tool I don't know about that rolles the sharp edge over at the bottom of the stainless gutter trim and makes it tight against the steel gutter on the roof.  Before I destroy the stainless I thought I better ask.  If there's no tool howthe heck is it done!!! :-\ ???
Thanks, Joe

I got it off by destroying the plastic and soaking the glue. The glue would not give up without a fight! It took most of the morning to get it off.   It looked like it might have been reglued with something alot stronger.  Thanks for the help!

I believe your car has 723 interior, dark green standard, right? Then no rosewood on the passenger side. :)

Why does the color of the interior make a difference as to weather you can order the rosewood dash or not.

If it's tight then you might smoke it trying to get an edge up first. One wrong move and the slightest kink will appear and in the trash it goes.

YES!  VERY TIGHT!!!!  I did get a corner up on both ends but the release agent is just not doing it.  I tried to saw a single edge razor blade through the glue but I can't make the cut.  This stuff is like concrete.  The agent is an adhesive remover for emblems.  I left what I got under over night. All it seems to do is melt the plastic and then hardens again!

Oky Doky then...  I'll get me a can of 3M or similar stuff and go for it!  The corners are lifted on both end so it should go well.  Thanks for the help!

Thanks.  What is a release agent?  Something from 3M?   Does it work as you go or do I have to let it soak?  It won't harm the rosewood or do I need to be careful about getting it on the surface.
