Well I know, through a different thread, the wheels Kelsey delivered to the dealers parts departments were different and had grey on the inside of the wheel instead of black. So I would think chevrolet painted the wheels, at least the silver portion.

When it comes to seeing the date codes, if they are faint to begin with and I was concerned with not being able to see them on the finished product, you would probably not want to powder coat them. Painting you have a little more flexibility with how heavy you go, powder coating seems to be pretty thick, (which I think adds to its strength).

Well some people aren't on here as often as others. He'll probably get back to you, good job locating what he was looking for. Did those little pieces pop off easy?

"thanks captain obvious" I read the auction, and I am aware of the production numbers. ;D
All humor aside, even with the low production numbers I have seen a handful sell in the past for around 60k. I have seen guys ask 115k, but I have not seen one pull crazy money. I have more than a casual interest, and would like to purchase one, but it would have to be the right one of corse. I have talked to over a dozen guys who have had them or found them and were putting one together, a lot of conversations, that had me thinking re stamp block while on the phone for one reason or another. I just wasn't sure if any other CRG members like Danny had a basis like another recent sale behind his comment is all.

I await the sale price or no sale price of this one, just to see where the NOM market on a 67 Z is.

Non original engine.. Takes it down at least 20K or more. IMO... Danny
OK down 20K from what though? What is the going rate on one in driver condition with the original motor?

I have seen a set of the X-33 lens for sale on ebay for as cheap as $40. I am not sure how you lost 2 because they seem like part of the lens (melted on?) but if it becomes an issue in the future it isn't to hard to locate them.

I don't know what the DMC stands for, but as Kurt has said there were sometimes more than one vendor for the same part. I have a original waffle style set on my car, although I do not know if this would have been correct.

WTG Chick, it takes some time and effort, but IMO well worth it than to have it done half assed.

what is the best price you have gotten for this? I wasn't near my blasting cabinet and asked a local shop to bead blast or sand blast some wheels, the price guestimate was around $200??? :-\ second shop same thing???  ???I can't imagine the "tumbler" is any better in price. Less man hours, but I bet they quote about the same amount, way to much for me.

General Discussion / Re: CRG t-shirts - How to order
« on: October 27, 2013, 04:19:40 AM »
I don't think we need to get to crazy with all the available options. I think the guys that are committed to ordering them will end up voicing there preference. Myself I would prefer a pull over with a hood, and then just the CRG logo on the front with website under it (like the t-shirt). But if it gets cold I will probably start with wearing a thermal under the t-shirt. It will be interesting how much the sweatshirt may run. It would be cool if someone had a vacuum sealer to suck that sweatshirt down to t-shirt size for shipping...but I am thinking in a perfect world.
