So which of these two clips is the correct one for a 68 ? These go on the end of the rod that hold the seat arms of the back part of the bucket seat to the bottom part.

Or this kind?

PS. Was there a plastic protector like what goes behind the window crank between the seat arm and the bottom seat?

This is the retainer that is where the seat back meets the seat bottom. This is the point that allows the seat to flips forward. I think mine both had the e-clips.....Joe

My 67 Firebird seats (came with the car) had the version in the lower picture. I had one seat with and one w/o the plastic protectors...

Guess I'll get both just in case.
