Decoding/Numbers / Re: help with verification

It decodes as a 1967 Pace Car replica.

You can do more decoding yourself here:

I have a 67 SS 350 4P car 04 Dec build from Norwood that I'm tracking info on. :-\

BTW, 04 D means 4th week of April build. Not December 4th.

I noticed that too. We need a way to get back to the main page, like the old format.

Why does the icon now take us to the forum, we are already in the forum with no way out. The icon takes us to the same place as the home button and is redundant. Is this a mistake?

Someone please put a link back to here:  http://www.camaros.org/

Its no longer all blue. Now its also in Hugger Orange :)

Oh, I see it now. It's a user controlled setting. In my user profile, my Camaro is blue, so the back ground turned blue. Yours is Hugger Orange, so it set the background to that color.

You can change it back to default or custom by going to your user settings: Profile>>Look and Layout>>Modify Profile and then check the box next to: Match Background to user profile vehicle color.

All kidding aside, the new layout is an improvement.

Looks like the site is moving to a new platform called "simple machines forum".

I also got an error logging in today. It was "error 403 site found but entry not authorized" not the usual error 404 site not found.

Looks like they are working on it. Some notice would have been nice, so I didn't think there was something wrong on my end!

The site appears all different today. Major format change? Did I miss a memo? Something wrong with my browser? Am I in the wrong dimension? Maybe it's just me...

General Discussion / Re: 1968 396 SS August Los Angeles Production?

The rear axle is BZ 2.73 non posi - does this make sense for a big block SS?

Paul

2.73 non posi would be the standard ratio for a non Rally Sport code MY engine.

Pretty sure I have seen legit 08E 1968 LOS tags before. That could be real, and a nice find if it is.

CRG can confirm if they have early 1968 tags, just wait for someone with data base access to respond.

I couldn't open the manual in your link, but I checked my 68 manual. You are correct, it has very detailed instructions.

Basically, push the Delco eye into each cell to break seal and let it fall into the battery...

General Discussion / Re: Wiper Arm Tool ??

The arm only pivots so far, then the tool will put pressure on the release tab and start to work. The picture above is the start position. Install the tool like that, then squeeze.

You may have to wiggle and pull up a little bit to get it to pop off, but it will be firmly in your hand and with an upward force, so as not to damage the paint.

Note: the tool also works as a beer bottle opener in a pinch!

Perhaps you can ask over on yenko dot net. Those guys are big on original stuff like this. Then again they may freak out you are actually planning on pouring acid in a rare NOS battery to use it instead of displaying it next to your car!

HBC is selling that battery for $1500 and it comes with instructions. It would be nice to know what the OEM recommends. Maybe HBC can tell you?

I have the Lilse tool from my local NAPA store. They ordered it and it came in a day.

My old procedure without the tool was to blanket the hood with towels and pop it off with a screwdriver. Too many close calls on finished cars necessitated the tool!
