Can anyone tell me if the 4346 780 should have a check ball in the vacuum secondary housing?
-
Yes, take a look at "Procedure" #6 in this PDF on how to tune a Holley...its down towards the bottom.

Hi Marty,
The Holley rebuilding book that I'm referencing states that most have the check ball but some have a metered restriction orifice. However it doesn't reference which list numbers should have it. Mine didn't have the check ball but before I reassemble it I want to be sure.

Chris - I was hoping the article referenced specific Holly's. Unfortunately it does not. It would be best if you waited for John (JohnZ) to chime in.
Good luck

Jerry will have the definitive answer, but I've never seen an OEM vacuum-secondary Holley 4150 or 4160 that didn't have a secondary diaphragm check ball.
-
Chris - you may want to try calling Jerry or writing him. Contact info is at the bottom of this link...
