I believe the original part number was 6416886 and was later substituted with 6470422.

So are we saying 40524 for 68Z and or 67Z? That thread was my original question and I did get a 40524. I was told that was correct for my car.

I was answering the 67Z question with that 10/01/67 P&A...
I can verify that the part did change as Steve said. But I don't know when...
Ask Ed...

Jerry, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 1967 Z28 used the AC 40524 Fuel Pump (Chevrolet P/N 6416866). Then, in late 1967 (early in the 1968 model year), the AC Part Number changed to 40725 (although the Chevrolet P/N remained the same).

I don't show the 6416886 being substituted with 6470422 until October 71.

Yep, that's exactly how the last line for 6416886 reads in the 10/01/67 P&A 34.
Confusing... you bet! I've told Ed, I'd be the first one to sign up for his class on interpreting the P&A!
