Restoring a late 09c with a black standard interior and noticed something different on the front bucket seats . They are no big adjusting screws on the upper seat . Also no stopper cable either . These seats are untouched . No threaded holes for the adjusting screws . Has anyone notice this before on a late built car ?

I have an 09C, Unrestored 2 owner car black standard interior. I will check it out tomorrow when I am at work and report my findings.
-
Think this is covered in the 1969 Camaro Legends Judging Manual

Recently worked on an 05A Norwood that has deluxe interior. No big adjusting screws on the upper seats, no provision for it. Did have the "stopper" cable.
Doc.

Yes, late seats had the thick metal bracket for the stopper vs the screw-able adjustable.

I just remembered to look at my car. Same as yours, 09C, no adjusters or cable. Black Standard interior, original car.

My car has the plate & no adjuster. I don't know about the cable as they were upholstered back in 1982 the 1st time. My upholstery guy could've left it off or ?. I put a cable on the seat because both holes were there, drilled & tapped. 08E born 8/28/1969.....Joe

Of those that said the seat had no cable, was there a hole in the arm of the seat back where the cable would've been mounted?....Joe

Maybe someone can post of photo of this

Agree, pics would help. Ive been watching this thread trying to figure out what you all were looking at. I've got my 15,000 mile original seats out of the car right now so could take a look and shoot photos to add to this thread. 09D late car.

Mine did Joe. Cable was either broken or missing. I can't remember off the top of my head. I installed one from the below thread.
Standard black original interior. 08D (Aug 22)
Here is a great thread on the subject from 2014. There have been quite a few, but this one still has good pics etc.

Just decided to read this thread today and got sucked into the rabbit hole. Ive had my seats out and before and never really noticed a cable so I pulled cover off to investigate. Didnt think mine was there because my headrest hits the dash pad. Low and behold.. cable and all hardware are present. My car is 06A standard interior.
-
Cable would only be on the passenger seat to keep it from hitting the dash.

Yes.. passenger seat only, on trans tunnel side, not door side.
-
Here's a pic of the passenger seat from my car, untouched original 09D of 69.

That hinge is closest to the door. Need to see the other hinge....Joe

Other side.

Is that hole threaded?.....Joe
-
no, plain hole. Appears to be punched and has the same finish as the surface. Definitely doesn't look like anything has ever been in there. Here's a closer pic.

So the cable went away sometime after 8/28/1969. Any cars prior to 09C out there?....Joe
