I'm considering purchasing the correct date coded distributor (1111169) for my '68 L35 A/T project. The numbers on the vacuum advance pod are 201 15 and the number on the cam is CCW 534.
Are these correct for my application?
Thanks,
Bob

I think it should have a 732, not a 534. Not a common thing to change.....
-
Thanks Kurt. I thought the 732 was used only with the L-78 and L-72 engines with the 1111499 distributor but I could be wrong.

All special high performance engines 396 and 427 engines had the 1111499 distributor with the 732CCW cams. This included the L78 and L72 like you mentioned, but I also believe it was also on the L89 aluminum head 396/375 HP engine. The 1111499 distributor was also used on the 396/350 HP L34 with AT.

It had other applications.

I have 2 untouched units here right now - both have the 732CCW.
-
Many thanks to all but my OP was in regards to the correct cam for the 1111169 distributor not the 1111499 distributor.
Thanks,
Bob

my 2 units are 111169's - they both have the 732CCW

Thanks Jeff. Then I wonder what application uses the 534 cam? I also have another 1111169 distributor with a 524 cam. I'm pretty sure the differences in the cams is the length of the advance slot but by how much I don't know.

Of the three 1111169 distributors that I have, all three have the 732 cam.
I am pretty sure the 1111445 that I have also has the 732 cam.
-
Bob, I checked two of the 1111169 distributors that I have. One has the B1 vacuum advance and the other has the MS 201 15. The 1111445 has the B1. I believe the B1 was used on most of the 396 engines in 67 and 68.

Thanks Bryon. Looks like the MS 201 15 seems to be correct. Both of my 1111169 distributors have this vacuum advance pod. Though I'm not quite sure I understand the differences between the cams.

B1 VA is an aftermarket unit- those were never installed at the factory.
-
OK, yes Jeff you are right. B1 is the correct current replacement. The B1 is not an original part.
The original vacuum advance pod is the MS 201 15. The numbers 201 are from the last 3 of the Delco Remy part number - 1116201.
The MS 201 15 is also correct for the 1111445 distributor.
