Title: Identify type of seat back foam required
Post by: JESSE TACKETT on July 13, 2023, 05:44:52 PM
I need to buy new seat foam as I intend to change my 69 standard interior upholstery to Houndstooth. I have already purchased and received the front and rear seat covers from Legendary. I understand the front bucket seat "backs" have two different styles of foam. I have included a pic of my seat with the back plastic cover removed. Is this sufficient to determine which type to order (with springs, without springs)? Does the rear seat need different foam as well? TIA   jess in ky

I believe there are 2 basic types of foam - one for standard and one for deluxe.

Are you doing them yourself or having a shop do them?  If a shop is doing them, then may have a preference on where the foam comes from.

I intend to do them myself. Camaro Central (local to me, Ky) shows 2 sets available for std interior, and 2 for deluxe interior, one with wire (springs?) one without. jess

69 had the 2 types:; springs separate from the foam as in 67-8 and later had springs integrated into the foam as in your picture.

These are separate springs..
