possible to fix fender front corner?
« on: January 15, 2024, 03:10:26 PM »
After I sanded the putty, some old damage came out. Apparently there is no repair panel on the market for this area. Has anyone ever repaired this area?

Tom which car is that on?

I used to have an extra fender that was rusted in other areas that I *think* I MIGHT still have.

If I have it and it’s good, I might be able to cut out a piece for you. Let me see. It may have been put in the scrap pile and might already be gone. The problem is the scrap pile is mostly buried in a 2 to 5 foot snow drift.

thanks for the quick reactions! :D

I can tin the fender, but then it won't have the correct inner radius to the headlight.
The fender is rust free, too good to throw away.

Bryon, this is a '68 RS, but the standard fender would also help me if I... If I wasn't 16h away I would come help you with the snow :-)

Here is the progress. I got a metal patch from a standard fender. I was able to adjust it so that it now fits in my RS fender

Make sure the fender does not have droop after all the front sheetmetal is bolted up tightly. Many cars have droop that never gets fixed. Cars do not leave my shop with this unsightly issue.
