Anybody tell me the best way to restore my orginal dip stick?
I soaked mine in EvapoRust and oiled it down after cleaning. I then bought a new rubber seal kit and now it is good as new.

Two 21 would be better than one 42 year old but wife wouldnt like it. thanks

Jerry, Thanks for the info, You have helped me before. I quess you aare getting the seal kit from RI corvette? I still haven't found the correct oil pan. You sent me pictures and I am going to a swap meet this weekend. Maybe I will get lucky. One more question. How did you get the gray tip out to soak it? I was scared I would damage it. Thanks Gary

Gary....I didn't take the gray tip out, just hung it upside down to let the remaining EvapoRust drain out. If there was any left inside, it would just evaporate and wouldn't hurt anything. I got my kit from Long Island Corvette. Ripped the old rubber out, scrapped and cleaned out the remains, and glued the new one in. As I said earlier, looks and works like a brand new one now.
