That VIN was final-assembled on or about May 15, 1969. Body tag has a 09A date; 1st week September, 1968. Tag rivets are not original.

One or both tags may not be original to the car.

Wow, that's one way to reinstall a trim tag.

I'd bet the production line ran out of rivets and decided to borrow some from NASA.

That does trump the #10 sheet metal screws on an X77 tag I witnessed at a local car show a few years back. Young man was quite proud of his car, too -
