Title: Fischer rody run numbers
Post by: offwing on January 08, 2009, 02:49:56 PM
I'm having trouble finding numbers, referred in previous posts as Fischer Body run numbers, stamped in the fenders and the hood of the '68 I have. Does anyone know if they should be there and if so where would they be? I'm trying to determine if these parts are original or not. Thanks.

The hood and fender were made by Chevrolet, not Fisher Body. The fender run numbers are on the vertical flange of the outer skin panel, just above where they bolt to the top of the radiator support.

Would a GM replacement fender have the date?

I don't know - have never looked closely at one.

Hood - rear left corner IIRC.
