Site Comments/Discussion / New Photobucket Format
« on: January 26, 2013, 01:24:33 AM »
Looks like the new page format in Photobucket may be taking out some of the pics posted in the past....  ???
Well, at least some of mine.  The pics are there in Photobucket in the original album, but on CRG forum there is a "removed or moved" message.  :'(

General Discussion / 67, 68 & 69 on Homepage
« on: December 05, 2012, 10:13:36 PM »
Okay, I've got to ask... Are the 67, 68 and 69 on the homepage for December all at the Charlotte Motor Speedway?  ???
The 67 on the track (before turn 3), the 68 in the infield and the 69 on pit road?  ;D

We're staking the fields this weekend.

While we're driving the First Gens this nice long weekend, let's remember those who sacrificed to get us here in freedom.

Even with the date change for this year, vendor and car corral sales look good. This is one of my benchmarks as to how the hobby is doing.

I know several of you who are attending and showing. Anybody else?

General Discussion / April 1 Homepage 1968 Car

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I can accept that yellow 68 posted today, because I'm sure those guys discussed all their changes under Mild Modifications.
But.... I have to question that yellow color choice.... It is obviously not an original... and we "butter-nuts" are purist, you know!"  ::)
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Always love the April 1 Homepage!  ;) ;) ;)
BTW, the 69 does answer the oversized tire question.  :o

Maintenance / Defrost Cable on 68 with A/C
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:36:29 PM »
My defrost cable has either broken or disconnected. Before we go into the dash, two questions.
Does anyone make that cable for cars with air?
What's the difference from non air cables? Longer or curved... Or both?

Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Thinking About Buying a Parts Car?!?
« on: February 18, 2012, 09:54:41 PM »
Better Buy It....
We went by one of the largest junk yards in the Southeast today. It used to have over a dozen wrecked first gen Camaros, but they were all gone! Where? To the scrap yard.
The owner told me that he had sent two/thirds of his parts cars to scrap, because scrap metal prices are higher than he can make off parting out the cars. He had pulled some carbs, etc., but the sheet metal had gone to the scrap yard.

Maintenance / Engine Detailing "Tricks"?
« on: December 24, 2011, 02:47:02 PM »
I usually spend a few days in the winter cleaning my engine compartment getting ready for Spring tours and shows. So, what are your special, "secret" tricks for cleaning? A particular cleaner? Brush? Etc?

Plenty of vendors, cars in the car corral, and a variety of clubs showing on Saturday.  The Camaro club will be there. All shows are in the infield at August Autofair, including HNR.

General Discussion / Charlotte Autofair
« on: April 06, 2011, 11:01:07 PM »
The Charlotte Autofair is this weekend. If you are coming to the AACA judging school on Friday, I'll be helping with registration, so let me know you are there. On Saturday at the national meet, I'll be judging that morning.  (Don't worry I never judge Camaros at national meets!) But in the afternoon, I'll be the old guy sitting with the yellow 68 at the bottom of the hill with the HNR badge that says Phillip on it.  ;D

Maintenance / Metal on metal ticking sound???
« on: October 10, 2010, 12:38:03 AM »
Any suggestions as to what could cause an occasional metal on metal ticking sound in the general area of the fly wheel?
It is not constant and seems to go away well before the PG shifts.
I've pulled the cover and do not see anything wrong....
Thanks in advance for any suggestions as to what it might be.
