Order an NCRS report. If it shipped 4/18 or later, all should be good. BTW, April 13, 1969 was a Sunday, so that would not be the anticipated start of production.

Ms may have been added after machine work.

I have a friend that worked at Motor Machine in San Diego. He said they stamped double M's on their rebuilds for warranty claims.

Research Topics & Reports / Re: 67-69 Bumper Jack Design
« on: October 17, 2021, 10:16:42 PM »
Based on this sampling, it appears only square masts were used at LOS after the change from the trapezoidal design was made; sometime between 10B 66 and 04B 67. But there just isn't enough info there to say that with 100% authority. If it were me and I needed a jack for a LOS car built after 01A 67, I'd go with a square mast. Really hard to believe that both weren't used more often at Van Nuys though considering every car produced needed one. There were obviously multiple suppliers, so definitely possible for both type to be used.

Wish I had seen the plants when they were operational. I appreciate hearing the stories and seeing the pics from both of you.

Wow, saw your newest progress after I posted! Sounds like you have a lot going on at once. Hope even more that you don't have to pull the head now!

Sorry to hear it wasn't as easy as just a plug wire. Hopefully the distributor rebuild will do it so you don't have to pull the head.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

Try swapping the #4 wire with another and see if the misfire changes cylinders with the wire swap. Or install a new wire on #4 (or replace all of them). If you know anyone or a shop with a distributor machine, you could pull yours and have it checked.

Fantastic! Great history!

I have not seen anything like that. Doubt it's original.

I guess that seems to be the best or fastest way to highlight the tag info for a lot of people to take pictures. For some, it is a way to try to hide the fact that the tag is fake.

Ground control to Major_Tom:
Sorry, no offense, I couldn't help myself.

I seriously doubt an L78 would be installed in lieu of an L35 "accidently" on the assembly line.
Unless the car has an impeccable restoration, 68k for a NOM 4N car seems like a lot.

So Mo, you are thinking a real DZ block?

Man those are Real pricey!

But I think I agree.  It would have to be a 010 block, in my book, I’ll see what I can find.

Thanks!!

Yes, I think a real DZ block would be your best bet. I know they can be pricey, but you should recover that difference when or if you sell the car. While the 010 may be preferable to you, I'm not sure it would make any difference at resale which block you use.

Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.
