Your Friday Photo
« on: April 14, 2014, 05:06:36 PM »
Hey folks,
I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to start a Friday picture thread featuring just one picture of your car out on a Friday afternoon drive.  I skipped out on work for a few minutes this last Friday and shot this with the longhorns.  They were somewhat nonplussed despite the Hugger Orange.

Exactly the idea.
Thanks for the nice comments all.  I'm already thinking of where to put the Camaro for next week's shot.  I may drive a bit further for it.  Don't tell the boss. Anyway, I expect more Friday shots from all of you...well on Friday.  The weather is getting nicer.  Get out there.

I see one problem with your photo.... your license plate number has X-77 in it, and clearly your car is a X-33.... :D

A lot of X-77's turn into X-33's over the years...  :)

That plate caught my eye too.  F-body Z- Z/28 X77 -it really is and 72 - hugger orange.  I hit the buy it now really quick as I had to have it.

My car 'turned' into an X-33 during a restoration in the 90s.  I think during restore a lot of people just think they'll add a few nice bits and viola! it changes the car.  Personally, I'm wanting to turn it back to a X77, but my wife would kill me if I suddenly start ripping off shiny parts.

Anybody else take a shot of their 67,68,69 last week in a unique location?

Very good idea for a Friday afternoon ride. The cow's don't seem to be impressed with your ride !!! Nor do they seem to be all that excited that you decided to stop to take a picture with them in the back ground.  I'm guessing, the one cow said to the other ones, OK guys, look your best here we go again !!!!

I have the same color combination - Cool picture either way. Can't wait to see your next back ground photo.

I think you set the bar pretty high with the long horns. I mean most guys can their dogs in a pic with there car, not sure how much more colorful or humorous we can get for a "casual" friday pic.

Guess what day it is?  Well we made it through another grueling week.  Time for a Friday photo.
I expect some others to chime in today with their photos.

This is my baby in the Texas Blue Bonnets.  If you don't know the tradition, this is the time of year when parents all over the state of Texas plop their babies down into these sticky weeds that just happen to be the state flower and take lots of pictures.  These are then sent to grandparents everywhere.  :)  Babies usually don't care much for the itchy experience, but Camaros don't mind.

Vonroll, great detail work on finding a highway curb to match and blend into the color of your car. You don't see highway curbs painted that color in NC.

Actually, you should thank Byron J. Carter (Leland's friend) who died as a result of injuries he sustained when he tried to hand crank start a Cadillac.  Carter’s death was the impetus for Charles F. Kettering and Henry M. Leland to develop the electric self-starter.

Nice pics.  Can you imagine, you could have been 12 years old and riding around with your pops in a brand new 1912 Caddie, then when you turned 69, you could have bought a brand new rip snort'n Camaro.  What a monumental leap in tech from one to the other.  Frankly I don't think we are so far from the 69 technology today unless you talk about silly electric cars like the Tesla or something.  ...which leave me cold.  Anyway, that picture really makes you think.

Good looking car. I like the pic with the ocean in the background, you must of took it around dusk, really brings out the color... 8)

Does it have to be driveable? I mean, how about one that's in a phase of a restoration with the thought of one day being driveable?  ;)

Yes, dusk. Last night at the boardwalk I had to run back to the car for some water and I noticed the lighting and thought... Photo op.

Thanks guys. Its far from perfect but we enjoy the hell out of it and make it a point to drive it the 400 mile round trip to the ocean at least once a year. Fun to share.
