Okay guys. Thanks for the input. I'm gonna think this one over for a while. I'm only 27, I plan to keep the car until I'm physically unable to drive. My Dads car was so sweet being a X-33 Daytona yellow Rally/Z. It was sold to a guy in a south Florida around 1993. But everything I look at pictures it's a sweet memory.

Mickey my plan was to punch the hole in the firewall, cut out the rear back up lights, and make the RS headlights functional.  I was going to do it all the way to the point the only way you could tell was if I told you. I appreciate your opinions. This is an awesome website and forum. I'm sure I'll have questions along my road to complete restoration. Thanks Guys!

So the short answer being unless I did the modification exactly as factory I'm lowering the overall value of the car?

I hoping to get some opinions on this. I am purchasing that Z/28 and it is a true X-33 car thanks to you guys confirming it for me. My questions is I really want to make the car into a Rally/Z. How does that affect the value of changing the car into something it wasn't. My Dad had an X-33 Rally/Z so I'm wanting to make it just like his. I plan on keeping the car forever, but in the rare case I would have to sell I would have to disclose that it's not a real Rally sport but yet a Real Z/28. Opinions please...

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1969 Z/28 (X-33) Trim Tag

Thanks guys. I just needed some solid reassurance. I was a little unaware of how much faking of these cowl tags is going on till I began the research to read through this site. Im certainly glad there are people like yourselves who know this stuff inside and out. And I myself can't tell the difference so I appreciate the responses!

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Z/28 (X-33) Trim Tag

Good morning everyone. I just want to say hello and I'm excited about joining this forum and was hoping to seek some professional help with this trim tag and vin from a 1969 Z/28 I'm purchasing. I'm not new to First Generation Camaro's but I also don't want to throw money out there on a Z/28 and come to find out one day it's not real. I can't say enough about how cool the owner is being with me and working with me so hopefully there's nothing wrong with the tags...

Car is a 1969 Camaro Z/28. Owner has original transmission but DZ motor long gone. Here are some pics of the Vin and cowl tag:
