General Discussion / Free small block parts
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:20:51 PM »
In an effort to clear out my garage/ shed I am offering some of my spare parts to anyone who may want them.
I have the following:
184 intake
log type exhaust with no AIR
170 water pump
mid 60's steel valve covers
843 alternator casing dated 9E1 - I stole the guts for my original - if you want the parts, I still have most of them
reproduction gas tank - never used, bought in case my original could not be repaired
th350 torque converter - not known if original
I also have a HEI distributor and an Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holley 4140? (not sure of the number but it is a vacuum secondary)
PM me if interested

I am trying to determine if I have the original pressure hose. It has the numbers  3/8  GY 4748A  1D 19
I found this thread that has some info, at the end of the post, on the numbers http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=6794.0

Restoration / N40 with C60
« on: December 12, 2014, 02:48:29 AM »
Does anybody have power steering with a/c on a small block? I am concerned about the spacing of the bracket for the rear of the compressor. Is there a special spacer to offset the rear of the A/C bracket on the exhaust manifold? The AIM makes no reference to C60 under the N40 RPO. Pictures would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone have a picture of a starter bracket for a 350?
Reading through a previous post : http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=8033.0  it appears that the 350 was different?

Decoding/Numbers / #82
« on: October 10, 2014, 01:23:28 AM »
While cleaning and repairing my 69, I have come across the #82 on several pieces.  The heater core box(pictured), the inside of the fan/ evap suitcase, on the bottom of the evap, back center of the gauge cluster, and on the air distribution duct. the one on the heater box is red the rest are yellow.
has anyone else seen this pattern? know what it was for? was there an RPO 82? or maybe the X82nd car on the line that day?

Originality / Sway bar bracket change
« on: September 25, 2014, 12:39:25 AM »
While having difficulty trying to find replacement bushings for my sway bar, I often wondered when the change occurred. Any ideas? Would it make sense to create a research topic upon such? Having an 06A(2nd week) Norwood car, I can only assume the change to the larger, fingered, bracket happened before then.
What I have found soo far is that the bracket remained the same from 1967- some time in '69.  I can only surmise that the new bracket design may have been to accomidate the larger 13/16 sway bar for 1970.

Maintenance / sway bar bushing replacement
« on: September 12, 2014, 11:07:06 PM »
I am in the midst of replacing my sway bar to frame bushings on my 69 , but no matter how I install them, it just doesn't look right
I have the later year mounts(with fingers).
any pointers? does the narrower slip under the top? is it supposed to just squish, leaving an oval for the bar to sit in? do I need to cut something?
Thank you for the help
